Matthew Spalding is an expert on American political history, constitutionalism, religious liberty, and civic renewal. He runs The Heritage Foundation’s B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies. An adjunct fellow with the Claremont Institute, Spalding is the author of A Sacred Union of Citizens: George Washington’s Farewell Address and the American Character and the editor of The Founders' Almanac and The Heritage Guide to the Constitution. He holds a Ph.D. in government from the Claremont Graduate School.

David Forte is Charles R. Emrick Jr. - Calfee, Halter & Griswold Endowed Professor of Law at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. During the Reagan administration, Professor Forte served as chief counsel to the United States delegation to the United Nations and alternate delegate to the Security Council. He has authored a number of briefs before the United States Supreme Court, and has frequently testified before the United States Congress and consulted with the Department of State on human rights and international affairs issues. He has appeared and spoken frequently on radio and television, both nationally and internationally. He is the author of Natural Law and Contemporary Public Policy, Studies in Islamic Law: Classical and Contemporary Application, and edited The Heritage Guide to the Constitution.
